We are a drop in program for children in grades 2 to 9 who are enrolled in online classes. This is the chance for you (YES! You, the parent or guardian) to leave your child with us and YOU can spend the day doing whatever you need to do (errands, appointments, meetings, eat a candy all afternoon while binging Netflix). Kid's KoWork is excited to help you and your kids make the most of their online school experience!
Your child will be assigned their own office to work out of all day. Shared sibling space is available at discounted rates (must be living in the same household). By having their own space, your child will NOT have to wear a mask while they are in their office
At Kid's KoWork we have amazing and qualified staff to help your kids, including a Teacher, an EA and a Physical, Occupational and Recreational Therapy Assistant.
Our amazing staff has activities planned for your child to keep them entertained and moving during breaks and after class. Our activities range from arts & crafts, games, tournaments, themed parties, daily NERF battles, and so much more!
Our drop in days are every week, Tuesday and Wednesday. Bookings must be made 72 hours in advance. Prices are $50 per day for a child. Please email Kid's KoWork to inquire about sibling discounts and pricing.
Kid's KoWork is open and ready to help your family make the most of their online learning experience!
Your child's safety is our #1 priority! Nurfageddon is following all the Alberta Health Services COVID -19 protocols and guidelines. Our facility will be thoroughly disinfected at the end of day and staff will be disinfecting surfaces continuously during the day. Children will have their temperature checked in the morning and in the afternoon. Frequent hand washing and/or sanitizing will be done throughout the day and social distancing will be practiced. Staff and students will be wearing face masks when social distancing is difficult or not possible.
All children enrolled in the Kid's KoWork program must be a student of a public or private, online school that has classes guided by a teacher. Our staff are available and willing to assist, guide and support your child, but we are not a facility that will replace or replicate a school or teachers. Parents will still need to be involved in their kids education, liaising with their teachers and helping with homework in the evenings.
Kid's KoWork is providing individual and shared office spaces for a distraction free learning environment. These spaces are separate from the common and play areas within the building.
Kid's KoWork is a drop in program available from 8 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday. Prices start at $50 per child per day, with sibling discounts available upon request. Registration must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Our maximum capacity is 20 children per day.
Should your child be experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or are feeling unwell, they will be isolated from the other children in their own private office space. We will contact you to come pick up your child. At home, you should use the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 Self Assessment Tool and follow the provided guidance to determine when your child is able to return to our facility.
All the Kid KoWork staff have valid criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks, allowing them to work with minors. Kids KoWork has a teacher, an Educational Assistant, and a Physical, Occupational and Recreational Therapy Assistant on staff, but these staff members are to support and guide your children. If your child requires additional support or tutors, please reach out to your child's teacher, school or school board for support.
No, Kid's KoWork is not a licensed childcare facility.
Kid's KoWork has a daily schedule that aligns with the online class schedule of Black Gold School Board. Students will be assigned to their individual office during class time work uninterrupted. We will provide supervision and be ready to provide fun crafts and activities during the breaks.
Our staff will alert you if your child is choosing not to partake in their online classes, becomes disruptive to other students, behaviour issues, struggling with specific parts of their curriculum, etc.
Your child must bring the required supplies they need to partake in their online learning. This includes: a laptop or tablet, headphones, any textbooks assigned by the school, required stationary, a nut-free lunch and snacks.
Kids KoWork will provide your child with an office space which includes: a desk, chair, power supply, internet connection and a refrigerator for your child to keep their lunch in.

Hey! Meet Eric!He helped start Nurfageddon about a year ago because he loves NERF battles and bringing fun and smiles to everyone who comes here. When he is not at Nurfageddon, he volunteers at his church's Sunday School program, because kids are AWESOME! He is still working on his NERF Degree (and although it is not yet official), but we think it is safe to address him as Professor NERF.
